Login API allows you to create a login page for your network's accounts on your own website. In order to log in via the API, you will need to take the following steps:

  1. Get an authentication token which stays valid for 1 minute.
  2. Log in with the token within 1 minute after obtaining it.

Getting authentication token.

Obtain authentication token.

URL: /rest-api/auth/token.do,
Method: POST,
Response format: application/json

This returns an authentication token for a given user, which stays valid for one minute and can be used once. A secure channel is required.

Response sample:

Parameters:
username - username of a user in the system,
password - password of a user in the system.

Logging in with an authentication token.

Log users in by directing them to the URL below with provided authentication token.

Reset forgotten password.

Submitting this request will send an email with instructions on resetting the user password.
