The key concept of Native ads is that an ad adapts to the design of the Publishers' Web sites, and, thus looks as a genuine part of content. Epom Ad Server allows to serve different Sites with a single Banner that would do so - instead of multiple copies of the same Banner adjusted for each and every Site. In that way, the integration becomes much more agile and easily customizable. Epom Ad Server provides Publishers with two ways of serving Native ads depending on the Advertiser needs:

  • As a Native Placement if the Publisher would like to receive JSON markup of the Native Banner. Common examples:
    • Publisher serves ads in his app, and can parse JSON markup.
    • Publisher stands for another Native Ad Serving network, and needs to receive Banner Markup to process the Banners further. In that case, Epom Ad Server acts as a mediator.
  • As a Native Adapter Template if Publisher would like to attune linked banners to the style of his/her Site.

Native Placements

To add a Native Placement:

  1. Log into your network account and go to the Publishers tab.
  2. Select an existing Site > Zone or add new ones.
  3. Click the Add Native Placement icon and fill out the form that appears:

    • Labels
    • Icon Size

    • Video Size

    • 3rd Party Network Lookup Limit option defines the maximum number of requests the system will make to 3rd party networks. For example, if you have seven 3rd party network's banners linked to a Placement, and the 3rd Party Network Lookup Limit is set to four, the system will request ads only from the first four banners. If they have no ads to display – the system will stop making requests, and three remaining networks won't be contacted.
  4. Click Save. You will be forwarded to the Native Placement card where you can link Native Banners, specify additional settings, and get the API request details in the Invocation Codes pane.
