How to Migrate, Starting With a Format Audit

Exads leans on performance formats, and not all of them map one to one. Do the format audit before you plan anything else. After that it is the standard sequence: export, rebuild, parallel-run, swap tags zone by zone.

Audit and import

~1–2 weeks

Configure

~1 week

Test and switch

Per zone

  1. 1

    Audit format parity

    A few days

Banner, popunder, native and video all map across. Push notifications are the open question — see the note below.

  2. 2

    Export and bulk-import

    About a week

Advertisers, campaigns and creatives become advertiser → campaign → banner. Publishers, sites and zones become Site → Zone → Placement.

  3. 3

    Rebuild your permission model

    A few days

Administrator and self-serve accounts become custom roles with per-entity permissions.

  4. 4

    Remap tokens and demand

    A few days

Affiliate macros, sub-IDs and postbacks map across. RTB partners reconnect as OpenRTB banners.

  5. 5

    Validate and parallel-run

    1–2 weeks

Diagnostics and a test page, then one low-traffic zone on both platforms. Reconcile on ratios.

  6. 6

    Cut over zone by zone

    Per zone

Swap tags one zone at a time. Keep the old tag ready to restore.

What your engineer will want to know

Format mapping first: banner and display go to standard Epom placements, popunder to a non-standard placement with the popunder template, native to a Native placement, and in-stream video to VAST or VPAID. Web push notification ads are the likely gap — Epom has pushdown and in-app notification-style templates but not web-push subscription ads, so if push is a meaningful share of your inventory treat it as an open item rather than an assumption. On the rest: performance tracking carries over, including affiliate macros, sub-ID passthrough and server-to-server postbacks, so map your Exads tokens across rather than rebuilding the tracking. Export reporting before you close the account; Epom does not import it.

The Questions That Come Up on Every Call

01

Does Epom accept the same verticals as Exads?

Yes. Adult, gambling, crypto, dating and nutra all run on Epom with no content review and no vertical restriction.

02

Can I run both at the same time?

Yes, per property. Serve one property through Epom while Exads handles the rest, for as long as you want.

03

What does Epom cost?

$250 a month at 8.5M display and mobile web impressions, rising by volume. Every add-on is priced on the pricing page.

04

What does Exads do that Epom doesn’t?

It bundles white-labeling with your own serving domain rather than charging for it as an add-on, and it operates at a larger published scale.

05

Do all my ad formats carry over?

Banner, popunder, native and video do. Web push notification ads are the open question — check with us before you plan around them.

06

How granular are the permissions?

Custom roles with more than 350 individual permissions, so each publisher and advertiser sees only what you decide.

07

What happens to my reporting history?

Export it before you close the account. Epom does not import historical data from other platforms.
