Hold on to your seats because Epom WL DSP 6.6 is here, and it’s bringing some serious game-changing updates. We’ve taken your feedback, sprinkled in some innovation, and packed this release with smarter, smoother, faster workflows. And yes, some of these changes will make you wonder how you ever lived without them.
Two-Way Linking: Finally, Some Freedom
Remember the old way of linking? The whole "create a filter here, go to the campaign, attach it manually, repeat for every single campaign" ordeal? Yeah, we weren’t exactly thrilled about it either.
Epom WL 6.6 fixes this. Now, you can link and unlink campaigns directly from:
- Bidding Rules
- Bid Modifiers
- Filter Lists
- Retargeting Lists
- Geofence Lists
- SSP Endpoints (for Admins, Supervisors, and Super-Admins)
What does this mean? It means no more jumping between pages like a confused detective trying to connect the dots. You can now link every necessary campaign right there, without ever leaving the filter list. Even better, if you ever need to unlink a campaign, you don’t have to go searching for it. Just remove it from the list, and you're done.
Oh, and one crucial detail: if a filter is linked to a campaign and filled with items, you cannot delete it until you unlink it. Because, well, logic.
Functionality aside, let’s talk aesthetics. Filters got a much-needed redesign, and we’re loving the new look. When you open a filter, you’ll now see two distinct tabs:
- Items – the actual contents of your filter.
- Overview – a summary with essential details like owner, type, and linked campaigns.
This isn’t just a small tweak — it’s a workflow revolution. The new two-way linking saves time, eliminates frustration, and gives you more control over your campaigns. And let’s be real, we could all use a little less chaos in our daily ad-tech lives.
Autopilot Gets Smarter: Meet "Group By Campaign" for Filters
Filters in a DSP are supposed to be your best friend, helping you streamline targeting and keep campaigns efficient. But let’s be honest — until now, if you had a Filter List shared across multiple campaigns, you were stuck with one-size-fits-all targeting. No more.
Version 6.6 brings an “Group By Campaign”. Finally, you can separate filter items per campaign, ensuring that each campaign only applies what’s relevant to its own targeting.
Previously, Filter Lists behaved like a communal soup — every campaign tossed its ingredients in, and they all mixed together. If you wanted certain URLs or segments to apply to one campaign but not another? Tough luck.
Now, every time a filter rule is triggered, the DSP will group items by the campaign that activated it. That means:
- Cleaner segmentation — each campaign gets its own set of filtered items.
- Better control — no accidental cross-contamination of targeting data.
- More efficiency — no need to create separate lists for every single campaign.
This feature is OFF by default (so your existing workflows stay untouched). But once enabled, it adds a whole new layer of precision to campaign filtering.
Autopilot Gets Sharper: Campaign-Specific Bid Modifiers
Bidding in programmatic advertising is a battlefield. You tweak, adjust, optimize — and then, bam! Your carefully crafted Bid Modifier List, shared across multiple campaigns, treats every campaign the same. Frustrating, right? Epom WL DSP 6.6 says “Not anymore”.
Bid Modifiers also got the similar “Group By Campaign” feature. So, your bid adjustments are now tailored per campaign. With Group By Campaign, bid modifiers stay inside their own lane, ensuring each campaign applies only the adjustments that actually make sense for it.
Before 6.6, bid modifiers worked like a global setting — if a campaign triggered a rule, every linked campaign had to deal with it. No way to separate adjustments per campaign.
Now, every time a bidding rule is activated, modifiers are grouped by the campaign that triggered them. That means:
- More precise pricing adjustments — only the right campaign gets modified.
- Better budget control — stop unnecessary bid inflation across campaigns.
- Less manual work — no need to maintain multiple modifier lists for each campaign.
This feature is OFF by default — so no surprises. But once activated, your bid strategy instantly gets smarter and more granular.
Bidstream: Compress Data with Ease – Less Data Waste, More Speed
Bidstream data can be huge, and if you're running high-volume campaigns, every byte counts. Enter compression — the newest upgrade that lets you save space and bandwidth without losing critical data.
- Compression is ON by default for all new BidStream configurations.
- For existing configs, it’s OFF (but you can enable it).
- Data is compressed using .zstd format — fast, efficient, and lightweight.
VAST Just Got an Upgrade: Full 3rd-Party Pixel Support
Previously, tracking pixels were limited to local videos. But if you were running VAST Tag or VAST XML ads, you were out of luck. Not anymore.
With Epom WL DSP 6.6:
- 3rd-party pixels are now fully supported for VAST Tag and VAST XML video ads.
- No more tracking gaps — get complete analytics across all video formats.
- Seamless integration with your existing video ad strategies.
This means better tracking, more precise reporting, and no compromises — whether you're serving video through local files or third-party VAST solutions.
Spend Alert via Slack Webhook: Never Miss a Budget Spike Again
Ad spend can be unpredictable — and when things go off the rails, you need to know immediately. That’s why Epom WL DSP 6.6 introduces Slack alerts for sudden spend fluctuations — so you’re always in the loop when it matters most. So, if your spend jumps or drops significantly, the system will instantly send an alert via Slack.
By default, every tenant gets a pre-configured alert:
- Spend change threshold: 50% (up or down)
- Minimum spend change to trigger an alert: $5
- Analysis window: 12 hours
- Scope: Global
Example scenarios:
- You spent $100 last hour. Now it's $50 → Alert! (50% drop)
- You spent $100 last hour. Now it's $150 → Alert! (50% increase)
- You spent $10 last hour. Now it’s $4 → Alert! (60% drop, but absolute decrease is over $5)
- You spent $5 last hour. Now it's $2 → No alert (60% drop, but the absolute decrease is only $3)
Why It’s Awesome:
- No more surprises – You’ll catch anomalies before they drain your budget.
- Customizable thresholds – Set different sensitivity levels per user or globally.
- Instant notifications – Slack alerts ensure you react in real time.
If your spend takes a nosedive (or skyrockets unexpectedly), you’ll be the first to know. Epom WL DSP 6.6 keeps your ad budget under control — automatically.
