Admin area map

What every page in the Admin area does, how the sidebar is organized, and which settings you configure yourself versus ask Epom support to change.

How-to admin Admin

The Admin area is where you configure your network: users and roles, branding, demand partners, taxonomies, traffic-quality rules, notifications and the defaults new entities start with. This page is the map — one table per sidebar group with every admin page you can be granted, plus the split between what you configure yourself and what Epom support handles.

Who this is for

Network administrators. Each admin page is individually gated by an “Admin UI” permission on your role — you only see the pages your role grants. Typing the URL of a page you don’t have still opens the page frame, but every request behind it is answered “Access denied” (403), so the page shows Failed to load or an empty grid rather than a permission message (see Users, roles & permissions). A page below that is missing from your sidebar can be added to your role by Epom support.

Prerequisites

  • A user whose role grants at least one Admin UI permission. Accounts with none see “No admin pages are available for your account.”

Steps

  1. Open the Admin area from the main navigation. You land on the admin page you last had open in this browser session, if your role still lists it, and otherwise on the first page your role permits — never on a blank shell.
  2. Use the sidebar to navigate. Pages are grouped by functional domain; Users & access, Ad serving and Demand partners (DSP) start expanded, the other groups start collapsed. A group is hidden entirely when your role can’t see any page inside it.

Corner cases and gotchas

Corner case: the sidebar is filtered on the server against the Admin UI permissions of the role you signed in with, and the console then keeps that tree for five minutes. If an administrator grants you a new admin page, sign in again, and expect up to five minutes before a page that is already open shows it.

Corner case: Admin has no fixed landing page. It redirects to the admin page you last had open in this browser session when your role still lists it, and otherwise to the first page your role permits. Two administrators with different roles can land on completely different pages.

Per-role notes

  • Administrators see one sidebar entry per Admin UI permission, with no read-only admin view. The checkbox name is not always the page name — see Manage users, roles and permissions.
  • Administrators who need the account side switch into a network user; an admin session cannot open the Account area.
  • Network managers, publishers and advertisers never see the Admin area: opening an admin page bounces them to their own account area.
